Afterschool as Mission™ equips the global Church to embrace out-of-school-time programs as a missiological vehicle for outreach, evangelism, and community transformation.
Our Mission: To educate and equip the global Church on the value and viability of afterschool programs as a missiological vehicle for outreach and evangelism in under-resourced communities.
Every day, millions of children walk through the doors of afterschool programs seeking safety, connection, and hope.
Millions of children in under-resourced communities attend afterschool programs each day, yet the Church remains largely untapped as a mobilizing force in this space. Afterschool as Mission™ exists to bridge this gap — showing churches that afterschool programming is one of the most effective and scalable outreach strategies available today.
Read Our VisionAAM's work is organized around five interconnected priorities that build on each other across our three-year plan.
Educate and inspire local churches to view afterschool programming as a viable outreach and evangelism strategy, connecting congregations with Christian OST programs.
Deliver high-quality training for staff of churches and Christian nonprofits in teaching, children's spiritual formation, ministry leadership, and trauma-informed care.
Establish the National Christian Out-of-School-Time Association (NCOSTA) to unite Christian OST programs, youth ministries, and mentoring programs nationwide.
Position AAM as the national voice for Christian afterschool ministry through speaking engagements, publications, podcast, and policy advocacy.
Build a diversified revenue model through consulting, training fees, foundation grants, church partnerships, and individual giving to sustain long-term impact.
Establish organizational infrastructure, build initial relationships, and launch core services — starting in Dallas, TX and expanding to 6 states.
Scale programming nationally, formally launch NCOSTA, expand the training catalog to 5–7 courses, and deepen revenue streams across 4–6 metro areas.
Achieve national recognition, establish the COST Leadership Institute with a certification program, grow NCOSTA to 30+ organizations in 10+ states.
The afterschool space represents one of the most under-leveraged mission fields in America. Every day, millions of children walk through the doors of afterschool programs seeking safety, connection, and hope. Afterschool as Mission™ exists to ensure the Church is present in that moment — equipped, excellent, and faithfully sharing the love of Christ.
